Melanie Nunes Fronckowiak won the World's Best Bottom 2008 Contest held by Sloggi Underwear Brand in France’s Paris on November 12. The contest is an underwear modeling contest which is in its straight second year running and is titled as "Show Me Your Sloggi".

Melanie Nunez who won this years "Most Beautiful Female Bottom" title is a South American woman hailing from Brazil. She is a former beauty queen and was a runner-up at Miss Brazil 2007 contest. Her male counterpart at this contest was Saiba Bombote, a 27-year-old man from the competition host country France.

Nunes Fronckowiak is no a stranger to the Brazilians. From the country’s Southernmost State Rio Grande do Sul, Melanie Nunes is a born beauty. After she was crowned the tile of Miss Rio Grande do Sul in 2007, and when she was only 19-year-old, she competed at Miss Brazil 2007 beauty pageants and won the runner-up title.

The Worlds Best Bottom 2008 winners were chosen in online voting at sloogi.com and selected by the judges panel November 12 in Paris, France.

At the conclusion of this contest, the Judges declared Brazilian 20-year-old Melanie Nunes Fronckowiak as best female bottom, and French 27-year-old Saiba Bombote was named the most beautiful male bottom.

More than 45 finalists from 26 countries competed, with the two winners receiving an underwear modelling contract, $15,000 prize money and an insurance contract for their bottoms.

Members of the judging panel included supermodel Adriana Karembeu, astronaut Paolo Nespoli, FHM France Editor-in-chief Lomig Guillo and Sloggi underwear chiefs.

Candidates had entered the competition by submitting their photos to www.sloggi.com, where 11,200 entries were received. And more than 31 million votes were cast by the public.

Cristina Camargo, a 23 year-old journalist from Colombia, was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2008 in an event held on Saturday, October 25, 2008, in Zabrze, Poland.

Camargo won over 56 other lovely candidates from around the globe in the 37th edition of Miss Intercontinental. She succeeded Miss Intercontinental 2007 from Seychelles, Nancy Afiouny.

The First & Second Runners-up were Miss Poland, Milena Lutrzykowska and Miss Belarus, Yakovina Lubov respectively.

It is Colombia's 2nd Miss Intercontinental title after Catalina Valencia in 2004.

Karla Paula Henry (born 1986 in Cebu, Philippines) is a Filipino Canadian beauty queen and a Cebu-based model. She was crowned as Miss Earth 2008 on November 9th, 2008 in her home country, the Philippines where is also the headquarters of Miss Earth organization. This is the second time in a row that a Filipino and half-Canadian held the title of Miss Earth when Jessica Trisko (2007 winner) from Canada is also a Filipino-Canadian.

In 2006, Karla joined the Miss Cebu pageant in Cebu City, where she placed as 2nd runner-up. She gained attention when she joined the prestigious Binibining Pilipinas 2008. Although considered as a top favorite, she was unplaced in the finals.

Karla again competed at the Miss Philippines-Earth 2008 pageant representing Cebu City. She made it to the initial list of ten semi-finalists and competed in the traditional swimsuit, interview, and evening gown competitions. She advanced to the top six in the final question and answer round. At the conclusion of the pageant, she was crowned Miss Philippines-Earth 2008 by the outgoing titleholder Jeanne Angeles Harn.

Karla is the first Filipino to be crowned Miss Earth. The pageant was held at Clark Expo in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines on November 9, 2008. This was the first time in Miss Earth history that the contestant of the host nation won the title. The Philippines, where the Miss Earth pageant was conceptualized, is the first Asian country to win the title.

Alejandra Andreu (born February 25, 1990) is a beauty queen from Spain who won the Miss International 2008 title in a contest held in The Venetian Macao, Macau on November 08, 2008. More than 63 beauties from all over the world competed to win the coveted title that was previously held by Priscila Perales of Mexico; And in the end, Miss Spain Alejandra Andreu was crowned the Miss International. She also won a special award of Miss Photogenic at this pageant.

Alejandra’s victory marks the third Miss International crown for Spain. Previous winners being Pilar Medina (1977) and Silvia de Esteban (1990). It is also the first "Grand Slam" beauty title for Spain since 1990. Alejandra also became one of the youngest winners in Miss International history when she was only 18 at the coronation moment.

She is now the winner of one the Big Four Pageants 2008 held this year.

She resembles former Miss Switzerland Lauriane Gillieron, a runner-up at Miss Universe 2006. When asked about beauty secrets, Alejandra says that she keeps a healthy lifestyle, but the most important thing is enjoying life.

She represented Zaragoza at Miss España 2008 where she was placed as 2nd runner-up. While the first runner-up is Claudia Moro from Madrid was one of the top 10 finalists at Miss Universe 2008 pageant in Vietnam. And the winner of Miss España 2008, Patricia Rodríguez from Tenerife will compete at Miss World 2008 in South Africa.

Usually, the 2nd runner up in Miss Spain competed in the Miss Europe pageant but being a unstable contest and its last edition took place in 2006, the organizers decided that Alejandra was better off competing in the Japanese competition (i.e.: Miss International).
